Your Event at the Sorbo
A special place and a meaningful choise
The historic and natural setting of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Sorbo is the perfect place to celebrate family occasions, private parties and corporate events. The indoor spaces can accommodate up to 50 people, while the Sanctuary’s outdoor areas are suitable for events with a larger number of guests.
The staff of the “Desiderio di Barbiana” Cooperative will assist you with the organisation, working with you to define every detail and create an event tailored to the occasion. Together with Chef Cristiano De Felice, you can arrange a buffet menu and select the options that best suit your guests’ needs. The menu can also be complemented by beers produced by the Cooperative’s own brewery.
Your event will make a difference
Organizing an event at the Sorbo means choosing a place rich in history and beauty, while also contributing to a project with a valuable social purpose. As part of the GĒR Project, the Cooperative manages the hospitality services and events held at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Sorbo, providing employment opportunities and inclusion pathways for people with autism and other psychosocial vulnerabilities.
Chef Cristiano De Felice
His professional career later took him to London, where he spent two years working as part of an international kitchen team and exploring different techniques, ingredients and culinary cultures. Starting as a commis chef, he gradually acquired new skills and responsibilities, eventually becoming a chef de partie.
After returning to Italy, De Felice continued his career in renowned restaurants and five-star hotels in Sanremo, Santa Teresa di Gallura and Chianciano. He worked in both cuisine and pastry-making, progressing through the roles of chef de partie, sous-chef and, ultimately, head chef. These experiences enabled him to refine his technical skills, his care in selecting and handling ingredients, and his ability to organise both the service and the kitchen team.
His cooking combines the flavours of Italian and Lazio tradition with the precision he acquired in leading restaurants and the international hospitality industry. Today, De Felice also brings this experience to the Cooperative’s social project, supporting and training the participants involved in its employment inclusion programms. For events at the Sorbo, he offers authentic, generous and distinctive cuisine, designed to make every occasion truly special.
